E — Research and engineering
Engineering begins before the drawing set. It begins with the ore, the project setting and the questions that still need answers.
Xinhai's research services can cover sample analysis, exploratory testwork, verification testing, flowsheet tests and semi-industrial pilot testing. The 2026 research brochure describes a CNAS-accredited laboratory, an industrial-scale pilot base, experience across more than 70 ore types and approximately 200 test studies a year. Available routes include gravity, magnetic and flotation tests, leaching, comminution, dewatering and tailings treatment.
That evidence can feed studies and design for the mine, processing plant and tailings storage facility. Depending on project maturity, engineering may address feasibility, process definition, equipment duties, layouts, utilities, civil and structural interfaces, electrical and automation systems, material take-offs and construction drawings.
Your team should leave this stage with more than a concept. It needs an agreed design basis: what has been tested, which route has been selected, which inputs remain provisional and what must be resolved before procurement or construction moves.

M — Mine construction management
Some owners need a complete management layer. Others need support at one difficult stage. Xinhai describes both full-process and stage-specific management across design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
The work is coordination-heavy by nature. Design deliverables must arrive when procurement needs them. Vendor information must reach civil and installation teams. Handover is not the end of the technical story. A new plant must be staffed, commissioned, maintained and stabilised. An existing operation may need a sharper operating system or targeted technical support.

Operating indicators depend on the project and contract, so they should be agreed rather than implied. Throughput, concentrate output, grade, tailings grade, recovery, equipment availability and cost may all matter, but not in the same way for every asset. Discuss an operations briefChoose the boundary before you choose the contract.
EPC+M+O can cover a long chain, but your agreement should still be precise. Define battery limits. Name owner-supplied information. Mark exclusions. Agree who owns local permits, utilities, logistics, testing, commissioning inputs and operating consumables. Then identify the decisions that cannot be made until better data arrives.
Xinhai's project material shows work delivered through EPC, EPCM, subcontracting, management and operating arrangements. The right model depends on project stage, owner capability, location and risk allocation. A single label cannot settle those questions.
