From mineral processing roots to Mine EPC+M+O

Xinhai Mining describes its business through two connected areas: mineral resources investment and development, and full-industry-chain mining services. This site focuses on the service side.

The Mine EPC+M+O model covers Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Management and Operation. Research and design teams define the technical basis. Manufacturing and procurement teams turn that basis into equipment and material packages. Construction and commissioning teams bring the design to site. Management and operations services can carry responsibility into project coordination and production.

That structure is useful when owners want one technical thread across stages. It is also useful when the need is narrower. A laboratory study, detailed design or equipment package can stand on its own if the boundary is clear.

Xinhai reports serving more than 2,500 mines, completing more than 600 Mine EPC+M+O projects and working across more than 100 countries and regions. The group also reports more than 700 technical experts and experience with more than 70 ore types.

Research before scale-up

The technical foundation starts with mineral research. Xinhai operates a CNAS-accredited laboratory and an industrial-scale pilot test base. The 2026 research brochure records approximately 200 test studies a year across more than 70 ore types.

The workflow can begin with sample analysis and exploratory testing, then move through verification, flowsheet testing and pilot-scale work where needed. Facilities support routes including crushing, grinding, gravity separation, magnetic separation, flotation, leaching, thickening, filtration and tailings dewatering.

For owners, laboratory capability matters because it sets the quality of the design basis. Pilot capability matters when bench work does not answer the scale-up question with enough confidence. Engineering involvement matters because the test programme should produce decisions, not just data.

No laboratory can make an unrepresentative sample representative. Sampling context, geological variability and chain of custody still belong in the conversation.

Design across mine, plant and tailings

Xinhai's Mine Design Institute provides engineering for mining, mineral processing and tailings storage facilities. The published discipline set includes geology, mining, mineral processing, civil, structural, electrical, automation, water, piping, tailings and technical economics.

That breadth reflects the way mines actually work. Processing capacity affects power and water. Equipment loads affect foundations. Mine planning affects ore feed and stockpiles. Tailings design affects the plant water balance. A cost estimate is only meaningful when these systems share a basis.

Design services can span feasibility, basic engineering and detailed construction information. Xinhai's materials also describe digital tools for three-dimensional design, information management and engineering analysis. Tools help teams coordinate. They do not replace field data or engineering judgement.

When you assess a designer, ask who owns each interface and how changes are controlled. A long discipline list is only valuable when the disciplines talk to one another.

Manufacturing that can follow the design

Xinhai Mining reports three intelligent manufacturing bases. Its equipment manufacturing base covers approximately 110,000 m² and supplies more than 1,000 types of main and auxiliary equipment for mining, mineral processing and metallurgical projects below 50,000 t/d.

The published large-equipment range includes φ7 m-class ball mills, 320 m³ flotation cells, φ20 m × 20 m leaching tanks and φ100 m thickeners. Separate capability covers wear-resistant materials, modular and prefabricated assemblies, and mine automation systems.

For project teams, the advantage is not simply factory size. Engineering information can flow into fabrication, assembly and inspection. Equipment documentation can be coordinated across a package. Modular systems can be pre-assembled before site delivery where the project strategy supports it.

The factory should still be judged against your specification. Ask about materials, quality records, inspection points, preservation, packing, shipment and the spare-parts plan.

Construction and operations complete the feedback loop

A group that designs and manufactures equipment sees what happens when drawings and machines reach site. A group that supports operations sees what happens after commissioning. That feedback can improve the questions asked upstream.

Xinhai's construction materials cover civil works, equipment installation and process commissioning. The group reports a China Class-A Qualification for General Contracting of Mine Construction Projects. Its operations scope can cover production, equipment, safety, environmental, workforce and financial management for mines, processing plants and tailings facilities.

These are broad claims, so each proposal needs a narrow contract boundary. The project location, local rules, owner team, site condition and commercial model determine what Xinhai will actually perform.

Put your project in front of the right discipline.

Tell Xinhai what you are deciding. A test programme? A flowsheet? Detailed design? A complete equipment package? Construction responsibility? A plant upgrade or operating scope?

Send the mineral, country, capacity, project stage and available reports. If the information is incomplete, say where. The right first answer may be a proposal. It may be a request for better data.
